Overview
We are looking for a Software Engineer to support the design and implementation of backend solutions within a modern, cloud-based technology environment. The role is part of an organization undergoing a broader technology transformation, focusing on building scalable, secure, and data-driven platforms that support business operations across multiple markets.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and operate API-first applications, while contributing to high-quality engineering practices, system reliability, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications with an API-first approach
- Build and integrate services using internal and external APIs
- Apply secure coding practices and cloud security best practices
- Contribute to system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency
- Work with DevOps practices including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders
- Independently drive tasks and identify opportunities for improvement
- Improve system reliability and operational performance
- Apply best practices around SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Backend development experience using Python or Node.js
- Experience building and operating APIs in production environments
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, GitHub, or similar tools
- Knowledge of secure coding and cloud security best practices
- Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments
Nice-to-Have
- Experience working in environments combining SaaS platforms and custom-built solutions
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and incident management
- Familiarity with SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets
- Experience working in distributed or cross-border teams
- Frontend experience for internal tooling or admin interfaces
